Dayawan is located on the southeast side of Huizhou City, with a land area of 265 square kilometers. The waterfront is the most important urban resource. To implement the "Pearl River Delta Reform and Development Planning Outline (2008-2919)" for urban positioning and spatial development guidance requirements, and under the guidance of various higher-level planning, the overall goal of building Dayawan as a "petrochemical city and green harbor" is carried out, and the conceptual planning and urban design of key areas of Xiayong coastal area in Huizhou Dayawan are conducted.
The design follows the Waterfront Revival Plan, setting up six themed activity centers along the coastline, each with its own characteristics, forming a rhythmic sequence of spatial activities and creating a rhythmic waterfront activity. These six themes include: Green Coast, Pioneering Coast, Romantic Beach, Sports Sea Heart, Rocky Coast, and Floating Coast. The plan aims to create an attractive, vibrant, and economically prosperous place for living, tourism, and coastal resorts. Sun, sand, and waves, combined with rural forests and mountains, and a happy ecology, once again build a poetic coastal city for living by the sea.
One Belt, Two Axes, and Five Districts
The belt is the east-west coastal leisure landscape belt, the two axes include the new city central axis with Huzhou Island and Haixin Lighthouse as the endpoints, and the east-west Xiaguang Second Road urban axis. The five districts include the western old town renovation area, central hotel residential area, Haixin experience area, semi-mountain hotel residential area, and the eastern hotel residential area.
Haixin Experience Area
Panda Bay and Huzhou Island are the best coastal landscape resources in the planning area and also the most core landscape areas within the planning scope. The Sunshine Beach combines green squares, service facilities, landscape plank roads, and romantic beaches in a close and rhythmic manner. It will be built into the most charming leisure beach and sports park in Xiayong. The Huzhou Island Haixin Experience Center integrates sports, leisure, sightseeing, gourmet food, and yacht clubs. It is built around Huzhou Island and is a large platform floating on the sea, serving as a symbolic node on the central axis of Xiayong New City.
Old Town Renovation Area
The old town with high density and low quality will be transformed into a modern coastal small town that integrates living, commerce, and public service facilities, creating an open coastal leisure harbor.
Leisure Landscape Belt
The plan will connect the corridors into a whole through the union of public open spaces. In terms of bird's-eye and upward views, standing on the mountain, one can overlook the entire new city and bay area, with a broad view. Looking at Wushan Head from the golden coastline, Wushan Head can serve as the background to form an undulating skyline for the entire eastern urban area. From the sea to the land perspective, the urban space is open and dense, and from the inside of the city, the line of sight is mainly attracted to the open spaces along the river banks and various urban squares and central axis green belts, with rich landscape spaces, thus the line of sight is continuous and diverse.
