This planning area is located in the northern part of Binjiang New City. Since the Western Han Dynasty, this area has been the site of the Changsha King's tombs and the northern Jincheng city of the royal tomb garrison. Binjiang New City will become the new urban center west of the Xiangjiang River in Changsha. It is adjacent to the new administrative center of Changsha in the west and the Xiangjiang River in the east, serving as an important link between this planning area and the core urban area of Changsha's east bank. The Changsha King's tomb group site in the Gushan area is complete and rich, and has not yet been fully excavated and studied. The current priority is to protect it as a heritage park. Jincheng, as an important hub connecting Changsha city to the west bank and even Wangcheng in the past, occupies a strategic position and has been preserved to this day, becoming the northern terminal of Binjiang New City with a significant status.
The ridge line basically divides this case into two areas, north and south. The north slope is mainly the royal tomb group and also the core area of the heritage park. The geographical pattern of looking at the river in the northeast and relying on the mountains in the southwest highlights the traditional Feng Shui concept of "dragon vein"; in addition to the core area of the tomb site that is mainly protected in the north, a public cultural landscape main axis is also planned and designed, combined with creative industry parks, themed hotels, sports parks, ecological parks, riverside wetlands, and various functions to achieve a comprehensive benefit that combines the openness and diversity of public landscape green spaces.
Han Culture Experience Area
The Han Culture Experience Area is located in the canyon passage connecting the north main entrance to the south secondary entrance, surrounded by higher terrain. The functional settings include: catering service area, tourist rest area, Han Dynasty culture indoor small theater, Han Dynasty art workshop, etc. Based on historical materials and research results, the Han Dynasty Royal Court Life Restoration Hall and the Han Dynasty Royal Court Culture Experience Hall are set up to restore several Han Dynasty royal court life scenes and encourage audience participation, making it a highlight of the area.
Cultural Relics Protection Area
The Cultural Relics Protection Area is located in the northeast of the park, including a secondary entrance of the park, 4 mountaintop viewing platforms, and 10 royal tomb protection display areas from No. 4 to No. 13. Through the protection and display of these ten royal tombs, using landscape installation imagery display techniques, efforts are made to create the grandeur of the entire royal tomb area.
